A Call for Pioneering Research: “Harnessing the Power of Data: Innovative Data-Driven Models for Energy and Water Management” in Springer’s Discover Data Journal

Dear colleagues and friends,

I am glad to announce my role as an editor for an upcoming special issue of the Springer journal, Discover Data. Titled “Harnessing the Power of Data: Innovative Data-Driven Models for Energy and Water Management”, this collection aims to bring forth the intersection of data science and its transformative potential in shaping the future of two critical sectors: energy and water management.

The world is witnessing an accelerating pace of data science advancements, which, in the face of increasing resource demands, sustainability challenges, and the indispensable need for efficient management, hold the key to innovative solutions. Both the energy and water sectors are standing at the cusp of this data-driven revolution.

Through this special issue, we seek to uncover the untapped potential of data science, to create a platform for knowledge exchange, and to provide direction for future research in this dynamic field. We invite submissions of original research articles, comprehensive reviews, and insightful case studies that highlight but are not limited to:

  • Predictive models for energy consumption and water usage
  • Data-driven optimization of energy and water resources
  • The role of AI and Machine Learning in sustainable energy and water management
  • Big data analytics in forecasting energy production and water supply
  • Case studies of successful implementations of data-driven models in energy and water sectors

The call for papers is now open, and submissions will be accepted from 31 July 2023 until 31 July 2024. More details can be found at the official Call for Papers on the Springer website here.
